Trellix Launches New Blogging Capabilities
Integrated With Industry-Leading Web Publishing Technology

Trellix's Private-Label Offering Enables Publishers, Media Outlets,
Destination Sites To Capitalize on Surging Interest in Weblogs or "Blogs"

CONCORD, Mass. - August 8, 2002 -Trellix® Corporation, the leading provider of web site building technology and online marketing solutions to small businesses and consumers, today announced the launch of a scalable, mass-market weblog management or `blogging' solution that is fully integrated with the company's private-label web publishing tools and platform. The new fee-based offering, which includes major usability enhancements, will be available to millions of users through Trellix partners.

"Weblogs let anyone demonstrate their expertise, share knowledge, or create closer customer relationships through frequent postings," said Trellix CTO Dan Bricklin."By adding native, easy-to-use blogging capabilities to our core web publishing platform, we are giving these users a powerful and simple way to extend the breadth of their web presence and create an ongoing dialog with people who share their interests and hobbies."

The release stems from joint efforts between Trellix and blog industry pioneer Evan Williams, president of Pyra Labs and creator of market-leading Blogger™ technology. Trellix announced the licensing of Pyra's Blogger technology in 2001, and Trellix has since used its expertise in web site and content creation to develop a blogging solution geared toward the mainstream market.

"I've always wondered why people couldn't create and manage both a weblog and web site with one tool," said Amy Wohl, President of Wohl & Associates. "Trellix's integrated solution lets mainstream users do that and more."

Trellix's latest release provides builders of all technical abilities the power of a blog and the features and flexibility of a web site. Users will be able to access all the tools they need from a single provider, allowing them to easily create, share and maintain journals, essays and diaries as part of their personal web site. Small businesses and organizations can leverage blogs to enhance their businesses, enabling them to better share expert advice, conduct ongoing technical support, post password-protected project reports, or publish other information about their market or service.

Blogging technology within the Trellix platform allows publishers and other service providers to offer the most comprehensive web publishing solution, including a premiere web site, an easy-to-create blog, a domain name, domain-based e-mail, low-cost hosting and industry-leading promotion and marketing services. Partners can customize and brand the solution to address the needs of their particular markets. More information on the Trellix blogging solution is available at www.trellix.com/blogging.
